Carfagna’s Italian Market: An Italian food bazaar in Columbus!

Anciovi/Anchovies anyone ?? I found incredible ones from Sciacca, Sicily at Carfagna’s Italian Market in Columbus during one of my booktour trips a few weeks ago.  Anchovies are used in Sicilian cuisine almost like you would use salt and sugar, they are sprinkled here and there – most often in pizza – but also grilled in summer feasts.  I feel like they are an acquired taste (just like sushi)  you either like them or you don’t.  To me, they add incredible brain power – I eat one and oxygen floats to my brain instantaneously, if they come with Mediterranean sea salt, even better.  Mmm, buonissimi!  Along the way, I found a few other favorites and some zesty alternatives……..always better if that zest is made with orange/arancia ;) If you are ever around Columbus – Carfagna’s Italian Market is a walk you must make into this fragrant Italian Food Bazaar!  Buon Appetito!
